Coaches Across Continent works throughout Kenya stretching all across the country. All of our partners in Kenya are very unique and passionate about their work. Not only do we have partners who we have worked with for a few years but we have also added new partners in Kenya for 2013. Horn of Africa Development Initiative (HODI) is an NGO located in Marsabit County, in northern Kenya. They use football to help end tribal conflicts and clashes with a motto, “shoot to score goals instead of shooting to kill.” Using football for a means to a better life, they open new doors to many young adults and children. Kenya Community Sports Foundation (KESOFO) is an NGO located in Eldoret town, Kenya. They use sport for social change, focusing on youth transformation and behavior change throughout their community. Creating sport based projects that educate youth on all aspects of life are played at at the youth centre which create a safe environment for the community. Kisumu Youth Football Association (KYFA) use football as a chance to expand children’s development as people outside of the classroom. They have created a community based league that brings football competitions while also teaching life skills. Likoni Community Football League is a community-based youth organization in Likoni, Mombasa, Kenya. It was created with the goal to provide competition throughout Likoni giving youth a chance to play football in a structured area while also creating leaders within the community. Moving the Goalposts (MTG) is an organization based in Kilifi District, Kenya who teaches skills to girls and women to better equip them for the future touching topics of leadership, confidence, and self-esteem. Not only does MTG work on helping women gain confidence and leadership but they also educate the women about reproductive health, human rights, and economic empowerment initiatives. The Society Empowerment Project (SEP) is located in Oyugis which is a very rural area in Western Kenya and a Streetfootball World parter. SEP uses football to capture the youths interest throughout the area then uses that connection to wider their education and personal development through messages in the game. Trans-nzoia Youth Sports Association (TYSA) is an NGO who uses sport to Inspire and Empower people. With a network of 10 International Organizations and over 20 local organizations they have a support system that keeps them accomplishing there goals. Vijana Amani Pamoja meaning “Peace Together Youth” is a community-based-organisation, located in the heart of the Eastlands area of Nairobi, Kenya, where it is home to numerous slums and high poverty area.
