• Reclaim Childhood & UKSD Latest Accredited Organizations

As part of CAC’s 2020 celebrations of International Women’s Day worldwide we are very excited to announce that another amazing organization in our global collaboration has been accredited in Purposeful Play: Congratulations to Reclaim Childhood!!!

CAC and Reclaim Childhood have been working closely together for more than 3 years. During this time we have shared resources and experiences, played lots of games, learned through honest dialogue on and off the field, and evolved in our understanding of what it takes to deliver programs for girls, led by women and in contexts complicated by politics and war. Nora Dooley, who has been with CAC for 7 years working with community partners worldwide, says of Reclaim Childhood: “I have said this to CAC staff, to the RC team, and to anyone who is listening – these programs in Jordan are some of the best examples I have ever experienced first hand and from a distance of what a ‘safe space’ looks like for girls and women to play and learn. Every interaction I have with RC holds honesty and a fierce commitment to these women and girls at its center. Personal strong opinion: Anyone in this space of sport/play/education for local and global development should check out this program and see what they can learn.”

We also wanted to take this moment to give another shout-out to recently accredited organization, UKSD! Our two years working alongside this powerful organization based in Massachusetts have been intense, thoughtful and always very fun. This is a group of humans building a legacy in a country that values developing talent in sport, making money and winning championships to the extreme extent that programs like UKSD are few and far between. We are so energized working closely with UKSD to support their use of Purposeful Play as a tool to challenge the harmful cultures around sport in the US and inspire young female leaders to find and share their voices in this complicated society. And a special shout-out to a particular young leader, Lexi Papavasiliou, who has been a superpower driving the incredible impact of UKSD in communities around Massachusetts and worldwide. CAC met Lexi in 2018 and we are constantly inspired by her strength and commitment to social change. Congratulations again to UKSD!!

Purposeful Play: Creating Education Outside the Classroom

Coaches Across Continents is proud to recognize the first-ever recipients of our global Organizational Accreditation Program in Purposeful Play and Education Outside the Classroom.  GOALS Armenia, ACER Brasil, and training4changeS (South Africa) have demonstrated organizational growth and capacity-building through partnership with CAC to create legacies of social change based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through Purposeful Play.  They are being recognized as model organizations within CAC’s global partnership network; a network that covers 60 countries, impacting over 16 million children.

In January, 2019 Coaches Across Continents launched the world’s first-ever Organizational Accreditation Program in Purposeful Play and Education Outside the Classroom. For accreditation, these groups engaged with their CAC Process Consultants to develop their organizations through our 28 Strategic Resources that include: Creating a Theory of Change Model, Designing a Women’s Rights Policy, Monitoring & Evaluation Process Consultancy, Child and Community-Based Protection Training, and more.

GOALS Armenia, ACER Brasil, and training4changeS are CAC partners that have their staff and On-Field educators certified in CAC’s Self-Directed Learning Methodology and Purposeful Play: Creating Education Outside the Classroom.

With the help of Corporate Partnerships and Foundations such as Games 4 Good, Michael Johnson Young Leaders, Soccer Sisters, and Beyond Sport these three remarkable organizations were able to make history as the world’s first ever accredited organizations in Purposeful Play and Education Outside the Classroom.

GOALS Armenia, ACER Brasil, and Training4changeS are truly making the world a better place through Purposeful Play.  It is CAC’s honor to recognize them with this accreditation.  We look forward to other organizations with CAC’s global network joining this elite trio by engaging in CAC’s year-round strategic resources and delivering Purposeful Play in their communities.

    Congratulations!

  • Niñas Sin Miedo: the first CAC Accredited Organization of 2021

Based in Soacha and Bogotá, Colombia, Niñas Sin Miedo (NSM) is a female-led organization serving girls and young women from underserved communities. Using the bicycle as their central tool, they provide opportunities for girls to learn and express their voices, their ideas and their power. They focus on supporting the girls to address specific challenges and issues like sexual and reproductive health and rights, and they provide endless opportunities for the girls to play and take ownership of their learning and development.

We have partnered with NSM since 2017 and it has been a privilege to witness and support their evolution. They are one of the most socially-conscious organizations in the world and our global network has the honor of learning and sharing with these incredible women. One of the NSM coordinators was a Michael Johnson Young Leader in 2018 and then later traveled alongside CAC to deliver on-field Education Outside the Classroom trainings all over Colombia.

On this International Women’s Day 2021, there are few groups who embody the #ChooseToChallenge theme like Niñas Sin Miedo. We are thrilled to announce Niñas Sin Miedo as an accredited organization in using Purposeful Play to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
