In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic CAC is honoured to have joined forces with Commonwealth Moves, an initiative of The Commonwealth Secretariat, to address Mental Well-Being in youth. We collaborate to create a play-based resource and supplementary information document both of which can be accessed through this link. This resource is free to use by sport for development practitioners, coaches, managers, and organizations globally.
– In a recent survey 96% of Coaches Across Continents (CAC) partners reported the mental well-being of youth they impact has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
– With the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat, CAC has created a specialised play-based educational resource covering issues such as anxiety, self-esteem, balancing emotions, stress, and loneliness.
– The games shared are adaptable to varying numbers of participants and national restrictions (distancing, hygiene, one-person activity). As a result it can be used in contexts where isolation, social distancing and public hygiene measures are necessary.
– The supplementary resource offers guidelines and recommendations on vital topics associated with mental well-being such as: Online Safeguarding and Protection of Children, Connecting Virtually, and Monitoring and Evaluation of the resource.
